DJ Replay is a London born House DJ & Producer specialising in Afro, Deep, Electronica, Melodic, Progressive, Tech and "All Things House".
He started his craft at the age of 15 when he discovered DJing at a youth centre called the Selby Centre based in Tottenham where he was taught by his idol, Mixmaster Max.
DJ Replay began his musical journey by playing Hardcore in the early 90's which then progressed to Jungle, and then to Drum n Bass. He was known by the name of DJ Step, in 1992 he had a regular show on pirate radio station Rude FM. His inspiration came from labels and artists such as XL Records, Moving Shadow, Metal Heads, Goldie, Moby, Prodigy, and 4 Hero, just to name a few.
In 1993 DJ Replay found his love for Garage & House Music and soon made a name for himself in 1994 / 1995 playing on pirate radio stations like London Underground 89.4FM, Passion FM and Xtreme FM, back then he was known as DJ Shorty. He also played at major events and organised his own nights and events too, one of them being "Deep Sensation" at the Cross Night Club in Kings Cross.
Some of his influences for this era were labels such as, Strictly Rhythm, Nervous Records, Nite Grooves, King Street and artists like Mood II Swing, Deep Dish, Todd Edwards, DJ Sneak, Todd Terry, Masters at Work, Johnny Fiasco & Kerri Chandler.
1996 to 1997 he was making a real name for himself on the UK Garage scene and went on to produce a track with singer and song writer Memzee. He also made his own personal and exclusive tracks which he cut onto dubplates down at Music House, off the Holloway Road.
2002 DJ Replay started a night called "essence of house", this was a house night dedicated to the London underground scene in the heart of Shoreditch.
DJ Replay began studying sound engineering in 2003 and achieved his qualification for this in 2005.
That same year he opened his own industry standard recording studio operating Pro Tools and Logic Pro.
DJ Replay also had some involvement in recording and producing different genres of music, from Dance, to R&B, to Rock, and Grime.
2006 he co-founded Xtremeformusic which was the offshoot of "Xtreme FM", an internet radio station which ran until 2009.
Between 2018 to 2023 DJ Replay had a residency radio show on the infamous House FM London and Deep Dance Radio Amsterdam, he also regularly played at the iconic Ministry of Sound, playing at events such as Groove Odyssey and the 51st State Festival.
2024 DJ Replay collaborated with DJ Natty and in conjunction with TEN17 Promotions and Xtremeformusic, to bring the long awaited "Xtreme FM" Reunion Party.
2025 The launch of his new compilation mixes "Melodic Soul" Music for the Soul, and also the launch of DJ Replay's new branding & website.
As well as DJing & producing, DJ Replay worked for Sony DADC UK, one of the music industries world leading distribution companies.
